PHOTO GALLERY: Mason Mount cleared up ‘animosity’ with Lisandro Martinez in Man United’s latest training session

MASON MOUNT proved there’s no bad blooԀ between him and his new team-mates as he trained as a Manchester United player for the first time yesterday.

Fans feared an awkward reunion for Mount after he clashed with Lisandro Martinez when the teams met in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last season.

Mason Mount could have a very uncomfortable reunion with one Man Utd player

The two clashed when playing for United and Chelsea respectively

Following his £55 million transfer, Mount was practicing in United colors for the first time.

After Mount was called for fouling the Argentine, the two fought over the ball.

The 24-year-old reacted angrily when Martinez pushed Mount into his chest.

When Mount and Martinez squared up again, England teammate Luke Shaw shoved Mount aside to diffuse the tension.

But the pair were all-smiles as they joked about their past clɑsh.

Martinez said as he embraced Mount: “Come my brother, before we fιght each other – now we love eachother!

“Together now!”

Mount completed a £55million move to United this week after protracted negotiations between the Red Devils’ and Mount’s boyhood club, Chelsea.

The midfielder will wear the number seven shirt most recently worn by Ronaldo until he vacated the club in January.

Awarding Mount United’s iconic number seven shirt caused controversy among fans online.

Also welcoming Mount to the club was Bruno Fernandes, who has a similarly awkward history with the former Chelsea player.

Fernandes, 28, posted two snaps on his Instagram story of him clɑshing with Mount alongside the caption “Why did you take so long to sign”

He followed that up with “Welcome @masonmount”

United are looking to follow up the signing of Mason Mount by securing two further targets in the coming weeks.

As they look to replace David De Gea in goal, reports indicate that they are close to signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

After their original £30 million offer was turned down, the club has also made a play for long-time target Rasmus Hojlund and is contemplating a £40 million deal.
