Sharing about the future of James Maddison , journalist Ben Jacobs shared:
“The current expectation is that James Maddison will leave Leicester even if they are relegated. Newcastle and Spurs have been interested in Maddison for some time. Newcastle tried to sign Maddison last summer, and Spurs have stepped up. Whether or not this deal will depend on the new coach and sporting director.”
Maddison is still rated as a top midfielder in the Premier League.
“A number of other Premier League clubs are also following Maddison closely . Arsenal have other priorities at the moment, but they are aware of his situation. Same goes for Man Utd.”
“Clubs interested in Mason Mount could be more serious about Maddison , if they can’t sign the Chelsea midfielder.”
“Maddison’s value is not clear at this point. Leicester have consistently valued him at around £60m, but the clubs pursuing Maddison feel they can do a deal around 40-45m. table, due to his contract situation. If Leicester are relegated, they will be in a weaker position at the negotiating table.”
